Introduction

H. Anthony “Tony” Duncan is a trial lawyer who is based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Martindale-Hubbell® has rated him as AV Preeminent™ in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, and litigation. He focuses his practice on serious personal injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases throughout the United States. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the United States Tax Court, and all federal courts in Tennessee. In addition to those admissions, he is admitted to practice before all Tennessee state courts. He was listed as a “Rising Star” in “Mid-South Super Lawyers (2010)” and has been listed as a “Super Lawyer” in “Mid-South Super Lawyers” since 2011. He is an inductee into the invitation-only organizations known as The National Trial Lawyers and the National Association of Distinguished Counsel, and was recently invited to become a member of the Million-Dollar Advocates Forum. Additionally, he is a member of the American Bar Association; the American Association for Justice; the Tennessee Bar Association; the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association (where he is a past member of its board of governors and an officer); and the Nashville Bar Association. He is frequently consulted by other attorneys on issues involving case valuation, wrongful death, tort law, trial practice, civil procedure, evidence, and appellate practice.

6. How do you decide whether you will take my case?
We are fortunate in that we look at many cases every year even though we are not a large law firm. And we like it that way. Unfortunately, however, we are not able to help all of the people who ask for and need our help. We look at each case individually as it comes in. We evaluate the case collectively, involving everyone in the firm. Most importantly, Mr. Duncan will have input in deciding the cases we will take. If we believe that we can make a difference for you, or on behalf of others like you or a loved one, we will take the case. Sometimes, if we are unable to help you, we know of other lawyers who can help, and we will refer you to them.
